The Victim Offender Reconciliation Program of Denver (VORP) would like to welcome Angell Pérez as the new Executive Director beginning January 2012!


Angell Perez Angell Perez

Angell Pérez comes to VORP with extensive experience in youth development and social justice community organizing. Angell served as the Director of Teen and Outreach Programs at Girls Inc. of Metro Denver for 5 years and previous to that she was the Program Manager for the City and County’s Youth Opportunity Girls Empowerment Program under Mayor Wellington Web’s Administration. Angell has also worked at other local community organizations in the Denver area such Mi Casa Resource Center for Women and Denver Area Youth Services. Under her leadership she has been responsible for growing the capacity of these organizations and leading inclusiveness initiatives to meet the needs of the Denver community. Angell brings strong passion for community, youth empowerment and intentional anti-racist approaches in community organizing. She received an independent bachelor’s degree in Multiculturalism and Social Justice from Metropolitan State College of Denver and is currently a second year graduate student in the Ethnic Studies Department at Colorado State University. Angell is a mother of 4 children all of whom attend Denver Public Schools.

Welcome to VORP of Denver. This site is intended to offer information about restorative justice as well as our specific programs and services. We serve victims of crimes, offenders, disputants, and justice professionals. If you have any questions that this site cannot answer, please contact us.

Vision Statement:  We envision a community where all our kids succeed in reaching their highest potential because they’ve had the opportunity to learn from their mistakes, gain the skills needed to deal with conflict, and never become involved in the Criminal Justice System.

    RESTORE
    The RESTORE Program provides a voluntary opportunity for youth who have shoplifted to deal with their charge in a way that is meaningful to themselves and the community.

    Victim Offender Mediation
    VOM is a powerful process that allows a safe environment for victims to face the offender that caused them harm. Victim's get to see that the offender takes responsibility for their crime, to ask the questions that only offenders can answer and to negotiate a contract to repair the harm of a dispute or crime.
